InformationHello, my name is Carl Ruby. I've had interest in radio for years and started collecting surveys when I was 14. My first gig was at KRCL in Thousand Oaks, the station at California Lutheran College (now University.). I started out doing news and had my first music show April 12, 1980. Shoutout to Alicia Thornton who helped me get my foot in the door. My junior year I got to be Music Director, and also helped with some news copy at 92.7 KNJO thanks to the late Dave Ciniero. I got to be Production director at KRCL my senior year. Most of the 1990s were spent in the US Navy, and in 1997 I started a website detailing the history of some now-defunct Los Angeles radio stations. http://www.SoCalRadioHistory.com I am grateful to be finally getting back into radio and am looking forward to this opportunity at The Online Station. |
